So does anyone strap a dinghy down on the bow?

If so, what do you strap it to? What do you used to strap it down (i.e. line or ratchet straps)?

Any pictures?

Thanks,

JK

A walker bay 8 will fit on the bow at an angle, and still leaves enough room to open the anchor locker. I tied to the shrouds, plate at the base of the mast, and stanchion base. Sorry, not much of a picture.

I have a Bombard Typhoon 285 fully loaded ready to go 276 lbs , pushed up against mast.

Dinghy is always ready to drop over....takes about 5 minutes to lanuch.

It takes about 15 minutes to put back on deck.

Took awhile to learn how to rig but I use twings on both sides of dinghy so sheets do not get caught up, in or under dinghy.

My Walker Bay 8 fits just like Valcour's does. When we anchor, we lift the bow of the Walker with the spare halyard, and open the forward hatch. Lots of ventilatiion, and the dinghy protects the hatch from sun and rain.
