1" ish raised spots??? dimples go in so perhaps you are talking about something else. the raised "dimples" are osmotic blisters and can be sanded out and refinished fairly easily. caused by water getting behind the gelcoat and into the glass resin. over time it breaks down the resin and it swells.

Yep... dimples may just be "cute" to one person and an indication of major cellulite to another..

What does she look like...?

No these dimples are much larger looks like they are caused by the chain plate pulling on hull Ill try and get a picture Hey thanks for the response

I had the same problem on Midnight Sun. The early 37's had chainplate bulkheads just one foot square and glassed to the hull on the vertical side and just rested against the underside of the deck on the upper horizontal side. They corrected this around hull number 70 or so. To fix it you have to completely uload the rigging for about two months. The dimples will come out it just takes a long time. After the hull has returned to its original shape you have to increase the size of the chainplate bulkheads and spread the load out to include more area of the hull. On Midnight Sun I went out two feet both forward and aft and lengthened the chainplate bulkheads down to the berths. It means taking a lot of the boat apart, but it the only way I know to really fix the problem. This was 22 years ago and the dimples have never returned. Hope this helps.

Look, I may be way off here, but I got some excellent responses to my question regarding leaking chain plate penetrations. First of all, these blisters represent a potential weakness of fiberglass hulls and have to do with the water reacting within the matrix, and may be unrelated to hull penetrations The West System "Fiberglass Boat Repair and Maintenance" manual tells how this is dealt with; along with other, similar repairs. Another excellent suggestion I got was to examine the suspected problem in detail before jumping to conclusions regarding the extent of damage and what the root cause is. As a minimum, looks like a haul-out and second opinion are in order. Best of luck!

Greg, this is a simple example of under engeering on the part of hunter. It has nothing to do with blisters. I have owned my boat for 34 years and have seen it all.
