I just bought a 1994 Macgregor 26s. I will be picking it up next weekend, but I see Sportsmans Guide has some good deals on Bimini Tops. Does anybody have the width dimensions (gunwale to gunwale)? Preferably anybody remember the exact dimensions of their Bimini if they purchased one? I'm guessing 32" High, 72" Long and ?? Wide

I think at the cockpit the width of the 26s is about 7'8". A bimi does not have to be exact... you can angle the piping in or out a few degrees which gives you a lot of play in the width dimension and you also have a wide scupper at the gunwale so any bimi close to that should work. Check out used boats on Criag's list. Find one that is going cheap with a bimi and then ask to just buy the bimi for $50. Bring a screw driver and four screws later... you have an inexpensive bimi.
THIS time of year (and especially September) you find tonnes of boats on Craigs List for sale.

Wait till next weekend and then get your own measurements about how high and how long you would want it. More often than not the boom may interfere with the height and you would have to make a choice wether to lower it or shorten it. If you are dying to go sailing that weekend just take a couple of nice and big Golf umbrellas.

Yeah 72 is likely much too long. Depending on how the main sheet is set up you'll need to adjust where and how it goes. With end boom sheeting on my boat my bimini ended up only being about 50" long. It works perfectly though.

Congrats on the new boat. My 26S is also a '94. Since it's been a while since you posted, have you had it in the water yet?
