Has anyone spend the time measuring every portlight, hatch, doorway, fixture, etc. on board their Hunter 30 Cherubini? I would love to have all these dimensions in a document of some sort and have limited access to my boat until April (since it's been 1 degree and snowing up here for the last five weeks). I am shopping for a lot of new parts and needed to know the sizes of the hardware and portlights. If no one has done this yet ... I bet you will all WANT it when I do it, eh? Portlights.
See if the picture looks like your portlights Eric. Your H30 should have the same ones as my H37C(used to have). The large ones, as in the picture, are called 6x14" but the actual hole size in the cabin is 7 9/16" x 15 1/2". The smaller portlights forward are called 4x11" and the hole is 5 1/2" x 12 1/2". See the Related Link. I replaced all of mine with bronze from NFM. Write if you think you want to do that.

For what it's worth, the portlights on my 1980 Hunter 30 are: Main Salon = Bomar #818AD 20 1/2W X 10 5/8H overall 18 7/16W X 8 9/16H internal External Trim Ring #GT 818D-2 and Bomar #715AD 17 3/4W X 9 1/2H Overall 15 9/16W X 7 1/2H Internal Gaskets for 818 & 715 are 3/8" foam, Head & V-Berth & Quarter Berth = Bomar #512 AD 14 5/8W X 7 7/8H Overall 12W X 5H internal Smoke Lens for head is # GP 907-28 ($36.45)

Eric I replaced the four main cabin port and the two smaller ports in the head and storage area. I used the Gray ports purchased from Boat US as they gave me the best price two years ago. I found extensive rot under all four main cabin ports which I filled in with the West system. The new ports fit right in the existing holes with the exception that I had to cut new holes for the drains. Not a job on a hot day. Do this early spring or late fall. I thought I was going to set the boat on fire when the blue tape started smoking from the expoxey when it cooked. Good luck Ian

and Ian confirms, the '78/79 boats had the multitude of rectangular portlights. The ones we call 7x14" and 5x12". Did the same thing as Ian when I replaced, epoxied the perimeter of all ten holes.
