I purchased this boat (Oday 22)last year and just love it. It's perfect for the rough, windy lakes scattered all about our home. The boat only came with two sails, and the head sail is a great big "lapper" with a clew that extends past the mast. On many windy days this is far too much sail. Can anyone tell me the proper dimensions of a working jib for this boat? I have never seen one for sale on any web sites, and I can't seem to find a source for this information. I would appreciate any assistance or advice.

Working Jib

Robert - Your boat has a J meansurement (foretriangle base) of 9 feet. The foot of your jib should be about 95% of that. Luff should remain the same. Leech will depend on how the sail is cut. I would bring your existing sail to a sail loft and tell them that the J is 9 feet - they'll know what to do from there. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

O'Day 22 Jib dimension

Robert, You don't say if your 22 is a fractional or masthead rig. Mine is a fractional and the jib dimensions are Luff = 23' 6" and Foot = 10' 0". For the masthead rig, the Luff = 24' 3" and Foot = 11' 3". These are dimensions for a standard working jib. Hope this helps. Bob McGee
