has anyone heard or has any imformation when the USCG will be monitoringchannel 70 for digital selective calling ?I have my MMSI registation number for my I-COM VHF RADIO THAT I OBTAINEDthru BOATUS. (TO APPLY TO MMSI@BOATUS.COM ) THERE IS NO CHARGE Iunderstand all merchant ships are now requried to monitor this channel.

The USCG sometimes seems to make things up as they go along - ok with me, seems a fair trade for knowing they're there - but the last time I asked USCG Portland Maine when the service would be fully DSC compliant they told me 2005.
