Difficulty with Main Halyard

Am having great difficulty raising mainsail for the final 10' or so. Work easily and fine up to that point - any ideas??

Had the same issue on my '85 H'31. Went from a 1/2" to 7/16" line and the problem went away. I think that the line sometimes absorb moisture and swells up causing additional friction.

I agree with Steve, over sized line is the culprit most of the time, causes friction.
