Last year I bought a 1980 Cal 25. All papers and a copy of the manual state it is just Cal 25. However; recently I was looking at some boat pictures on the internet and noticed that most Cal 25 have distinctly different cabin. My suspicion is that my boat is likely what some postings call Cal 2-25 or may be Cal 25 Mk II. Not that it changes a thing, I found her by sheer coincidence and liked what I saw. I enjoyed it all of the last year's short Canadian season. Nevertheless, I would like to know what are the differences between the three (two?) variations of the boat. I am trying to attach a picture to this post (hope it works, I never did it before ) Thanks in advance for any replies Tomek

Cal 25 or 2-25

Your boat is probably a 2-25. I crewed on a Cal 25. The Cal 25 has a flat deck, like a bigger version of the Cal20. Your boat has a raised cabin.

Cal 25

The Cal 25-2 and cal 25 mkII are pretty much the same boat. When referred to as just a cal 25 most people mean the original flush cabin model. Cal reintroduced the 25-2 in the 80's as the cal 25.(refered to as the cal 25 mk II). I also bought one last year and have been trying to figure out the correct model name. Does your cal 25 have diesel power or outboard?

Cal 25 MkII

I have a Cal 25 MkII which I purchased this spring. It looks just like the one in the picture, has a raised deck, and has an 8 hp diesel inboard. I am repairing some damage and am trying to source out and price a new or used rudder. Any ideas or leads where I might find one???
