My problem is solved but I thought I would post this for the archives so it may help someone someday. My m-18 {good running} diesel would not start. I used the glow plugs and cranked but no go. I changed the fuel filter and added an additive to the fuel. Nope, no go. After staring at the engine for an hour I noticed the cable that goes to the engine shut off didn't look correct. Yep, When I pulled and then pushed {to reset} the black handle tee {fuel shut off} in the cockpit it didn't reset at the engine. Problem solved. Hope this helps someone sometime, Jack PS , Where can I get a replacement cable? Thanks, Jack

WM carries a wide variety of Teleflex cables...

Take the old one in to make sure you get the right match. Most any quality chandlery will carry in stock or can order the correct cable. Terry

Happens more than you think

Somebody besides the owner pulls the kill switch but fails to make it go back down. If it's not readily visible, you may not think about it until going through exhaustive troubleshooting. Good advice.

Put a return spring on it ???

Seems like a simple solution to put a general purpose return spring somewhere on the shut-off.
