Would it be ok to use some left over white sanitation hose to connect my diesel deck filler to the tank?

Proper product for each application.

Marc: You really need to use the proper product for each application. Check on the West Marine site for diesel fuel fill hose.

No...

Neither black nor white potable water/sanitation hose is rated to carry fuel. Use only hoses that are rated for a particular purpose in any application. That's not just an arbitrary rule...there are very good reasons: Hose materials for different applications vary....rubber hose that's rated for fuel or exhaust contains materials that are toxic in a potable water system...water/sanitation will absorb fuel...hoses that aren't rated for below waterline installation are too prone to splitting with even a little age...some hoses can stand heat, others become soft and can collapse...etc. If you have leftover sanitation hose, I'll be one of your dockmates who's trying to figure out why his boat stinks will take it off your hands.

Hose

Peggie is correct. ABYC recommendation for hose, " shall be marked USCG Type A1 or USCG Type A2." Available at most marine stores.
