HELP! HELP! Must remove and replace leaking diesel fuel tank (Skyline Industries 14 gallon aluminum) for a Universal 5411 engine on a 1983 Catalina 27. It is located under the starboard quarter berth. The access opening is marginally larger than the tank, but does not appear to allow access to hold-down flanges (forward & aft) welded to tank and screwed into the wooden shelf on which it sits and apparently glassed into the hull. Has anyone undertaken such a removal and replacement and have a step by step suggested proceedure/protocal? Is there an alternative replacement tank that would be easier and simpler to hold down? HELP! Thanks!
