I would like to get my tank professionally cleaned. I have found several places in the Annapolis area. Are there any companies closer to Solomons? has anyone had this done recently? What did it cost?
I just had mine done in Florida and the cost was $175. They came to the boat with a large, new mobile filtering system cleaned all the fuel about ten times and polished the fuel tank itself using a fuel pressure wash. I did that because my fuel filters clogged and I was going on a long trip to the middle of nowhere and coudn't worry I would loose power. What did they find in the fuel? Almost nothin! Oh well the price to pay for piece of mind!
Zahnizer's filtered my fuel for me a few years back, when I got some water in it. I'm sure they could also clean the tank. Don't remember the price but it was not too unreasonable.
I have never delt with tank cleaners. For that much $, they must do a great job. If you are even a little bit handy, you can do it yourself for about $6. Check the archives on "ADDING A RACOR TYPE FILTER TO A CAT. 27"
