Tom-- I suggest two things: 1)wash the area throughly with fresh water and regular boat type soap. 2) when dry, use a little bit of Meguiar's Boat Cleaner Wax. It's one step, and will help remove minor contaminants, stains, etc., while leaving the surface smooth and protected, reducing the potential for future stains. Randy
