I've been working on my engine, filters, and fuel tank all season trying to locate a problem. Everytime I do I get diesel on my hands. Sometimes alot of diesel. Washing doesn't seem to rid the smell. Showering either. The next day I can still smell it on my hands. Any advice on what I can use to to get rid of the smell? Thanks.

Joe, Agreeing with Stu, also recommend using NAPA Orange (or other brand) hand cleaning lotion then a pair of rubber gloves when working. Using the cleaning lotion first helps remove odors and oil/fuel even if the gloves fail. Good luck.

Hey Joe...

I keep a box of vinyl gloves (one size fits all from Homey D) on board and put one on each time I handle something involving diesel. Fast Orange with pumice helps remove any smell that gets past the gloves or if I get diesel on my fingers removing the gloves.

The smell will never leave your hands and you are destined to smell like a Yanmar from now on.
