Diesel Parts Sourcing/ Fixing etc.

Hello everyone,

I have an older Kubota Diesel engine (90s) and need to source a couple of parts, oil pan and transmission. Considering the price of these parts I’m considering welding pin holes in the oil pan and rebuilding the transmission (does not go into gear). Does someone have a good online site or locale in New England to source reasonably priced parts. Also, a great place to repair a marine transmission. In addition, has anyone fixed an oil pan by having a welder fix it?

Unlike other companies who marinize diesels, parts for kubota block engines can be found at any Kubota dealer. The only exception might be parts specific the marinization, like the heat exchanger or injection elbow.

You will need to know the transmission (actually reverse gear in the marine world) before searching for parts for a rebuild, if the transmission can be rebuilt.

A few years back I had to replace my mixing elbow. It was for my 2000 340 (Yanmar 3GM3F). I was referred to SM Marine Service in East Greenwich, RI. (Scott) He sourced the parts and had them shipped to his shop.
It wasn’t so much that he was less expensive than others that I am telling you this, but the fact that he had all makes of engines, transmissions, shafts etc. Although he was less expensive, not by much, but got the parts.
I found him to be one of the nicest people to speak with and do business with also.
He’s located in a series of garage bays behind the East Greenwich Yacht Club. No frills, just down to earth service.
Not sure if I can post a phone number here, or should, but do an internet search for the name and it will come up. PM me if you can’t find it.

There are quite a few farm machines that use Kubota engines. Parts can easily and fairly inexpensively sourced through tractor dealers in farm country.
