In need of a good diesel mechanic near Quantico, VA along the Potomac River. My bud was bringing his CSY44 up from Myrtle Beach, SC and the engine began to convert itself into a washing machine i.e. sounded like it was going to die. Tanks drained and supposedly cleaned before he left and filters have been replaced several times enroute. Being the intelligent skipper he is: idle, wind, and tide to Quantico rather than risking failure further up the Potomac. He is in need of a diesel mechanic. Since we are both new to the area I though I would ask for some assistance from fellow sailors in the area.

I agree that Chris Oliver is great, but trying to get him to your location may be a problem. I would ask others at the yacht club for recommendations first. Also, you may want to try "Marine Engines Unlimited," a mobile diesel service. Number is 800-455-2691 or 410-867-4000. Be prepared to pay for travel time.
