We have a '92 Legend 37.5 with an aluminum fuel tank. We filled the tank on Fri. afternoon(pretty close to the top). When we went to the boat today we noticed a fuel odor. When we examined the tank we noticed a little diesel on top right under the fitting for the return. The nut was loose and it took 3 turns. The hose clamps are tight and all the other hoses and fittings are tight. We also noticed a little sheen of fuel on the wood on the inboard bottom side of the tank and at the front. Is it possible that the leak on top could have caused that residue we found on the wood? We are concerned that the bottom of the tank may have developed a tiny leak as our former aluminum holding tank did. Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone else had a similar problem? There is no fuel in the bilge. Thanks in advance. Alice

I think that you found your leak. Three turns

would be barely finger tight. If you filler pipe inlet is much above the tank and you had filled the pipe then you would have enough fuel to make a mess.
