I just purchased an O'Day 302 and have been having problems with fumes. At first we had fuel leaks at the filter and eblows next to the filter. We believe that we have those fixed and I'm getting the fuel out of the bildge with oil absorbing cloths, however when the engine is running and soon after it is shut down there are strong fumes, especially in the aft cabin. I don't see and exhaust vent for the engine compartment. Does anyone have this problem or a cure?

Exhaust Leak

Morning Craig: This may not be your problem, but it is a place to check. I had a similar problem a few months back and it turned out to be a very small crack in an exhaust elbow. It was above the injector and under the insulation. Hard to find. Replaced the wet exhaust and the problem went away. Luck!

Same problem

Craig, I had similar problems with my 322. Make sure you check all the connections at the fuel lines, from the fuel pump to the filter and to the high pressure pump and clean all the fuel off the engine. Also clean the housing around the engine. Good luck Jeff
