Put a bucket under it
Put a bucket under it to capture anything that comes out while you're emptying the housing, replacing the filter, and refilling the housing. If you don't have space for a bucket, a good quality and appropriately sized plastic bag (I've used zip lock freezer bags before) works too. You can tape the opening to hoses, etc in the engine area to hold it open. Then dump the bag contents into a better container to take to your local waste fuel/oil depot. There's also really absrobant towels made especially for fuel and oil. A common name for them is diapers. Always keep a couple new ones always under the engine for general leaks, and put down a bunch when doing fuel filter changes, etc to get anything your bucket misses.Craig
