Diesel engine removal

I sail a C-30 with a Universal 5411 and I need to change the pan gasket and rear seal. What do I use to remove the engine (sky hook)? What is the proceedure?

Tony; The 5411 is relatively light. After disconnecting everything, use a chainfall or a block and tackle suspended from your boom, supported with an A-frame made from 2x4s. If you need it completely out, make sure your topping lift is in good shape and just sling it onto the dock. Two guys can pick it up, put it into a dock cart and wheel it ashore. Good luck.

perfect opportunity!

If you are going to take the pan off, it could be the right time to install a little drain fitting with a valve. Draining your oil will suddently be a no brainer! I have a hose attached to my valve, and one of those bulb pumps used for an outboard. I can pump out all the oil in my engine in less than thirty CLEAN and effortless seconds.

you can send it my way! I'm looking for anyone that has (or can find!) a Unversal 5411 for my Catalina 30. the one she came with is unsalvagable. Help!
