He starter on my 93 Hunter 30 (yanmargm20) enjoys its job so much, the bendix continues to spin for a second or two after the starter switch is released. I have removed the solenoid and all appears fine - nothing binding - everything clean. Any thoughts before I have to sell my aleady worthless tech stocks to come up with the big bucks for a new starter. -Ron

Draggy starter

I just responded to another post about a starter problem on a 2gm20. I had a sticky starter a couple of years ago. I took the starter off and engaged it directly from a battery. The bendix would spin but would not advance on the shaft to the engage position. I lightly sanded the shaft with emery cloth and oiled it and it worked fine. In the marine environment, it had corroded slightly, enough that it would not move freely along the shaft, Mike McKendy "Sea Sharp"

Cheer up

We're in the same boat. Tech stocks have bounced back the past two weeks from worthless to nearly worthless. This is progress.
