I am trying to reattached a keel that was apparently damaged and then neglected to the point of corroding off the hull. I didn't pay much for the boat, an O'Day Mariner, and would like to make it seaworthy again. SInce the material is pig iron and there has been damage to the after and stern attaching areas, welding isn't an option. The suggestion of creating a king of "cradling" or "bracketing" system has been suggested, but I want to make the correct choice and the two ideas would mean some special/expensive custom work.
