Pearson 303 New Bern
My 1986 Pearson 303 has the original thru-hull DataMarine depth transducer. I want to connect it to my new Garmin 441S chart plotter. I am wondering if the DataMarine depth transducer is compatible with the Garmin chart plotter and can be wired together or do I need to purchase a Garmin dept transducer. Has anyone had a similar successful arrangement?

I suspect not. Technology has changed a lot over the last 30+ years so the interface is likely very different. I had a Datamarine knot meter in my 323 which had developed a leak. I replaced it with a Raymarine Bidata, which fit the hole nicely. Do it on your next haul out and you can rest easier knowing that the through hull is sound.

Agreed. When I took my DMI transducer out, I was surprise/unnerved by the ease with which it 'fell' out. Replaced with a Raymarine depth. Resting easy now as she floats.
