You might be able to fix it
I have had good luck doing that by disassembling the display and washing the circuit board. I use distilled hot water first to dissolve any salt and then follow that with a couple of methanol stove fuel rinses to remove the water. It does not take too much alcohol to remove the water. A gentle brushing with an acid brush or toothbrush will help remove salt if there is an accumulation of it. Once I have rinsed it with alcohol, let it dry for a while and then dry it in the oven at 180 degrees or so for an hour or two. Do not overheat it. In fact, you might first try the oven low heat method to dry it out without even taking it apart. If that doesn't work, then you could try the rinse method.
