My DS 45 Depth Sounder's head end, the display, unfortunately was drowned nearly 10 days back. I have tried drying it out and touching up some of the contacts and connections but it is showing no signs of life so it will need to be replaced. With Standard Horizons being out of the business these days I am looking for a used head end. If someone was has one they have pulled or knows of a salvage yard that might have one , I'd love to discuss it with you.
Sailing the Chesapeake with its soft shallow bottom a depth sounder is a critical instrument as the charts are commonly out of date and shoal markers aren't always where they need to be due to shifts.
