Depth sounder for MacGregor 26 X

I have just purchased a Mac 26 X and need to install a depth sounder.In a previous boat I installed a wet box near rhe bow and the transponder fired through the single skin fibreglass. Can anyone please tell me the best way to install one in a MacGregor 26 X which is sandwich foam construction.Mike

I have an 02X and I could not figure out where to put one that would work with the ballast out. I ended up with a Bottomline. It has a small transducer I glued to the botton of the ballast drain valve.

easy and inexpensive

I went with an $89 Hummingbird fish finder and installed the tranducer on the transom angle toward the bow of the boat. Works great. Good luck and happy sialing.

How to install Hummingbird PiranhaMAX 215 on Macgregor M26

We have a brand new in the package Hummingbird PiranhaMAX 215 fishfinder. How did you mount it on the transom and where & how did you run the wire to the display? How and where did you mount the display? If you have pictures that would be great too !!Thanks for the help! No need to reinvent the wheel...Cheryl
