Anybody w/an older '83 CATALINA 25.....where do you go for replacement electronics?? We love our old gal, but the depth gauge is out and the Standard is no longer....it's a 4" dial set in the cockpit location and all we see is 2"-2 1/2" diameter gauges on the market...The Uniden unit we are considering doesn't have a cover, either...We would welcome ANY ideas.... Thanks... Betsy&Harry Isley Asheboro,NC

Might I suggest...

The Catalina 25 Association. You won't find a more knowledgeable group on the subject of the C25 anywhere else. They're friendly too!

The new style square

display's should cover the old hole. The RayMarine ST60 is pretty nice, around $400. There aren't any electronics specific to the boat. Give Trevor a call at The Offshore Store: http://offshorestore.com/

I had the same problem

and resolved it for $99 with the excellant Uniden depth sounder unit. It came with an adjustable mounting where I could mount it inside the hull and "shoot thru" Here is what I did. I had the Standard Horizon 5" unit with the 4" mounting hole. I took the inside electronics out of the SH housing. I then cut a 2 1/2" dia hole in the plexiglass of the SH housing. Then I spray painted the backside of the plexiglass with flat black paint. Then I inserted the 2 1/2 " uniden unit into the housing from the front. The Uniden unit comes with a U mounting bracket to pull it up against a dashboard mount. It worked and looks sweet. The transducer works great and the unit is accurate to the inch. I know cause I used a "lead" line to verify the depth reading. I am now looking for a log unit to do the same thing with my knotometer at the same price. BTW. Im retired on SS and sure cant afford $400 + to check my depth clearance. I hope this is of some help to yo and , fair winds. John 1977 hull # 593 Cat 30
