The original depth finder on my 1985 Catalina 25 has gone nuts! Screen works fine but the numbers just bounce high to low and everything in between. I cleaned the bottom thinking maybe it was dirty. No help there. The former owner said it started doing that the last few years on and off....and now .....that is all it will do... Any suggestions?

1. Mention what manufacturer. 2. Try dmi.com in MA, they repair Datamarine units. 3. Try other manufacturer's reps, Signet, SRI, etc. 4. Look in boat magazines for others.

A bad connection to the transducer can cause that. Clean the connection at the back of the indicator.
