New sailboat owner. Just given a 28' Columbia sailboat that needs to be brought to Charleston, SC.New paint on hull and boat gone over by pro in or near Deltaville, VA mid north on Chesapeake.No sailing experiance but need to bring boat to Charleston area and gypsy blood says I write a note and say be back in a minute, buy a boat and sail off in it, so, bringing it down with 2 inexperianced sailors and 1 mid level.Need advice on routes, locks, bridges, tides everything pretty much, ICW?.Any help and advice would be SO MUCH appreciated and remembered. Have slip ready, just need my new HOME to be here. Thanks in advance for any help and advice, resources. I am really in the dark but researching all can.Have new paint on hull, 9 hp outboard engine and tiller steering. About all I know for know.

Same guy here. Also, any books on routes available for sailing? Did the Appalachian trail twice now and I know there are books for each mile and hostile sleeping site and wondered if same might be available for sailing? Thanks again. Plan on a stop in NC at Oriental and Beaufort or "Boford" still trying to learn the nomenclature.

Ooopos. Also, just have 9hp outboard as power if this matters. Planning on late Oct trip or mid to late Nov. trip.
