I AM LOOKING AT SOME OF THE OLDER CATALINA 27. DOES ANYONE KNOW AT WHAT AGE A FIBERGLASS HULL MAY START TO DELAMINATE.

Age not primary factor

Fiberglass delaminates because of problem during construction, not because of age. A two year old boat that was laid up with a batch of improperly mixed resin can delaminate. Before you buy, have the boat surveyed, they will be able to detect any delamination.

A larger issue...

...is that many Catalina 27s were built wrong with a faulty aspect ratio. They had to be retrofitted with an wooden extension off the bow (like a miniature gang plank) to move the forestay farther forward. Ask around if that matters.
