I have a 1979/27' Hunter which stays closed up all week, sometimes 2wks. I try to get down most weekends to air her out. With the weather here being so humid & trying to hold down on the mold & mildew I have been using a dehumidifier to help the problem, which has been working. Now, my question is/is possible to over dry the cabin when using it for such an extended period. Randy

What kind of dehumidifier are you using

Our weather is similiar and we were wondering about using a dehumidifier to fight the mold. How effective has it been for you and what type of dehumidifier have you been using. Thanks

MightyDry

We used a MightyDry brand dehumidifier on our boat while we lived aboard. It was amazing how much water the thing pulled from the air. The manufacturer recommended keeping the setting at a certain level in order to avoid drying out the interior woodwork to the point of cracking, so I imagine this could be a problem if left on high. The unit we have was expensive but very effective ($350). It can be purchased online at www.mightydry.com and I've heard Camping World stocks it. Trevor

Choices on the hard?

I'm going to post this query on the general forum. What "dessicant" choices do we have where 115V is not available? I have been using kitty litter the past two winters.
