Went to the Defender warhouse sale for the first time yesterday. Very impressive. Not a fancy set up, but boy do they have a selection. Just about everything is at least 10% off of Defender's regular prices, plus they have knowledgable staff there to help. I bought a quart of Micron CSC for $40 (West Marine price: $55); I had been prepared to buy a gallon, but after speaking with the Interlux sales rep, he convinced me it wasn't necessary. They also had reps and displays from several other manufacturers there, almost like a mini-boat show. And if I were in the market for an inflatable or outboard? holy smokes what a selection. The most fun? Going through the clearance isles and finding some great bargains on cleats and blocks. I think today is the last day, but you should phone the neighbors, wake the kids and go!

This was my third year and it can't be beat. I have averaged 20% savings over their prices. The bigger the ticket item the more savings and the electronics, motors and inflatables are heavily discounted because the manufacturers do "partner" deals with Defender for the sale. Being a half hour away I can save even more on shipping but it would still be well worth a two or three hour drive. Terrifically helpful and friendly folks too...

Mike - thanks for your post. I have been planning to buy a wheel pilot soon. I have been researching vendors and was planning to purchase from Defender as they seemed to have the best price. I just logged in to Defender and managed to get in on the warehouse sale at 6:15pm. You just saved me some big bucks!! thanks

...after going there last Thursday to do some pricing. Today, I bought a whole suite of Navman electronics (speed, depth & temp, wind and a repeater) the price was about $500 below list. I drove 70 miles to go back today to bring the Admiral as a guiding light and to hold my money. This is my 5th year in a row.
