Charge

Sylvan lives far from electrical outlets, so its wet cell battery has had to live since purchase about 10 years ago only on a solar charge panel, plus rare OB charging. It is stored on site for about 8 mo. without any charging, though it goes into fall/winter with a full charge. So far it has not burst from frozen electrolyte, but it does reqire lots of solar at spring/summer prep time. Somehow its survived (at least thru summer of 2011) to continue to provide power for occasional drain by running and interior lights, depth sounder, and modest radio use. RK

I have an old charger still in the blister pack that's never been used.

It's input is 120V .3 amps and it's output is 12V, 1.5 amps.
The output sounds like it's a simple car battery charger to get you going if your car battery dies, since 12V charging will NOT adequately charge a 12V battery.

Find and download the Ample Power Primer at www.amplepower.com and find out what batteries really need.
