Option Packages
We purchased "Winter Dream'n" #118 earlier this year. Received great advise from the dealer - Freeman Eckley in Vermilion, OH - re options and whether to buy from the manufacturer or locally. We also checked some the option prices and decided to go with the Catalina supplied on some and locally on others. We did all instrumentation locally as well as all ground tackle and safety gear. Other options were mixed. We did buy the cruising chute from Catalina and found that the price was pretty good. Added the sock from ATN. Only factory supplied option we got that was a big disappointment was the linen package - two sheet sets for the berths for $270. Big mistake. Bottom line - the dealer saved us from making a few more mistakes on options. I also believe that instruments should always be bought and installed and serviced locally. After almost 4 months of sailing, we love the boat and how she sails. Have had a few problems that have been handled quickly by the dealer, so far. Leaky starboard chainplate, engine hour meter, and a few minor fit & finish issues. One interesting problem was that the two forward port side window hatches do not open all the way because the port side cabin hull is thicker and there is not enough clearance. Wierd! Also we have to use two hands and a foot with a pliers to remove or install the v-berth hatch screen. Very high PO factor when you are in a hurry.Good Sailing to all you 310 owners. We have a great boat!
