Deck Organizers

Lines traveling from the base of the Mast (main sheets,inhaul, outhaul,ect.)run down the center of the coach roof under the windshield and under two long plastic roller with a stainless pin that fastens the rollers to the boat. Since the halyards are cranked tight the rollers will not turn when you adjust the mainsheet or use the inhaul or outhaul thereby wearing a groove into the roller. While this is no question poor engineering, there must be a fix. One dealer suggested replacing the long roller with a new organizers of higher quality. Has anyone else had a similar problem. The boat is a 1997 Hunter 430. Thanks, Tony Reed

430 rollers

Tony, not sure what you are referring to. On my 430, hull #42, all eight lines lead aft, half to port and half to starboard; however they lead straight aft from the mast, to a four sheave double stacked turning block, and then to another of the same type of block. Thus the lines lead straight aft, turn about forty five degrees to clear the mid-part of the coach roof, and then turn about another forty five degrees to thereafter lead straight aft to the stoppers. I haven't had any problems.

I have seen deck organizers that were installed 90 degrees out of alignment causing the lines to bind.

No probs on our 95 hull #4, but I do clean out the the area twice a year for the dirt and line dust..

430 Deck Organizers

Have experienced same issue.....severe wearing of plastic sheaves inside double stacked organizers..... spent approximately $100 to replace with upgraded organizer... only on starboard side as that is the side my main halyard and reefing line runs..... lots of tension at each turn from base of mast
