thru bolting is prefered
For anything that has a line running through it you will want to thru bolt the item using a substantial backing plate to spread the load. Just screwing it in with screws will eventually result it it giving up the ghost at a most unfortunate time.

aft of mast, wherever there is ample deck space and the resulting lead will turn the line fairly towards the cockpit. You'll need another single block lead at the base of the mast prior to leading to the organizer.

45 degrees... if you don't use a backing plate... use a fender washer and double nut with a cap head nut!... so you don't scrape your cranium.
