I'm reorganizing the running rigging on my Islander 28 and as more lines lead aft to the cockpit I'm thinking about replaciing the existing individual turning blocks with a deck organizer. The turning blocks have much larger sheave diameters than the organizer and also seem to be rather stout. Both the main halyard and the mainsheet can exert a fair amount of pressure on their individual turning blocks and a deck organizer in my mind would double the "static load" on the organizer block when the main is in use. Is it up to that use and is the smaller diameter sheave significant in terms of both strength and friction?
