I have a new to me '85 Cat 30. I noticed that the sheaves in the deck organizers on either side of the mast have deteriorated. One actually disintigrated on me this weekend when I tried to haul myself up the mast using the spare jib sheet. Anyways I was wondering if there is anything tricky to replacing them. I tried unscrewing the two phillips screws holding the organizer to the deck but they were incredibly tight and gave up until I got some advice. I noticed that they do not appear to have been bolted to the deck but screwed. Is this true? What is the best way to remove the deck organizers (sheaves)? Brut force. What about replacement sheaves, goto Garhauer? thanx for any help, evan -
