Deck light fixture missing?

On my 1993 Hunter legend 35.5, there doesn’t seem to be a deck light fixture. The fixture pictured is the running light, and though there is a breaker on the circuit board for a deck light (which does light up when switched on, but the corresponding indicator light on the boat diagram on the panel doesn’t light up like the other indicated lights do), there is apparently no deck light on the mast that I can see. Does a deck light somehow normally attach on the bottom of the pictured fixture?

You can get a combination fixture with the steaming light on top and deck light on the bottom. Of course that will only work if the wire for the deck light is accessible.

Some lights get around this issue by reversing the polarity. This of course requires you to install the correct kind of switch. I would check to see if this is the case and if your panel switch is functional

Any links or pix of the referenced combo fixture?

This fixture looks like mine. Is this an example of the running light/deck light combo fixture, but missing the deck light lens and bulb, similar to mine? Or is it just a running light fixture?

This is the best picture I can get of the lower facing part. I suppose this must be the deck light combo fixture. Does anybody know what lens/bulb I’d need to replace this? I’d rather go up the mast once if possible.

Good chance the bulb is burned out. It is a halogen bulb, it has 2 wire prongs. I believe it is an older Aqua Signal light.

If the bulb is good, then the wiring or connection may have failed.

My guess is that someone didn't care about the deck light and put the first fixture they could find on your mast. I'd recommend replacing the fixture with a decent LED unit and be done with it. Be sure to use heatshrink/sealed connectors

The light fixture is an AquaSignal. Aqua Signal stopped making recreational boating light fixtures and stopped making parts, like bulbs about 3 years ago. Finding a new bulb might be difficult.

Edit: You might try giving the SBO store a call on Monday, they may have bulbs.

Marinebeam has the correct halogen bulbs for the Aqua Signal fixtures or you can get an LED from them that will fit the fixture. I just changed mine to LED.

And, while you are at it, you might want to swap the steaming light bulb with an LED. That bulb should be a 42mm festoon which you'd likely want to replace with the 30-LED Cone-End Festoon in Cool White.
