I have pulled my 85' 28.5 for a bottom job and working on the hull currently. I hve used wet sanding 400 grit, 600, and 1000 grit on the hull and will wax it. My question is what about the deck and the nonskid surfaces. Should I do the same for them or is there a product that will protect the gelcoat that will not become slick.

Non skid polish

There is a company that makes a product called SureStep. It is a polish for non skid surfaces that actually grips better as the surface gets wetter. We use it and find it to work quite well and makes cleaning the deck much easier as the dirt doesn't get stuck in the nonskid as bad. For the slick gel coat surfaces, we use Mcguires polish and yellow wax for ease of clean and UV protection. Doug
