Removed the rub rail Saterday. The entire length did not have any adhesive on the deck. You can tell alot of water and dirt got underneath it. The seam for the deck and hull is in poor condition as there are many gaps. It looks like very sloppy work with little adhesive between. I can tell, especially in the bow that water did come through the seam into the anchor locker. I figure that I will grind the edge slightly just to clean it off, put 5200 in the seam and clamp it together prior to putting on my new rub rail. Greg P36-2 #101

re your ports

Greg not to hijack your hull/deck thread but in your pic I see your ports are Becksons the same as mine on my Seafarer 30 , have you replaced the seals on the opening ports ?

Gasket

seals are all good so far. The p/o bed the windows horribly though and had to rebed 4 of them so far due to significant leaking.

Hull to deck joint

Now that you have the old rub rail off why not bolt the joint together I know pearson used screws on most of their hull to deck joints Also If I were doing this job I wouldnt use 5200 once its sets up its pretty difficult to take apart. You might consider 4200 it seals just about as well but its a lot easier to take apart Bob Fox 1975 P26w #74

Bolts

The joint is bolted together along with the rub rail. I figured 5200 as it is a good adhesive/sealer and I doubt I will take the deck off the hull........I hope Greg
