I am refurbishing a 1978 HC33. I removed the two deck hatches, painted them and replaced the plexiglass. Now I need to replace the round, black, dense foam gasket material. The diameter of the gasket is 7/16ths. Does anyone know where I can buy this stuff? Thanks

H33 hatch gaskets

Several years ago, I simply stuck a round of adhesive backed foam weather stripping gasketing directly over the old original gasketing as an interim measure. Since then, the overlayed gasketing has done such a good job I see no need to change it at all. I believe that the thickness of the foam insulation was probably not over 1/4". The hatches are Bomar and I believe that West Marine may be a source of the original gasketing.

I think this comes in 2 sizes - small for the 9inch hatches and larger for the main hatches. You will need to check the size you have (or estimate what will fit.)
