i'm currently lookig at a 82 model 27', pretty good looking ol boat but i see something that doesn't add up, the hull of the boat above the water line looks sharp, even the tape appears to be in good shape. here is my concern, the deck of the boat and the stearing station and pod are very chaulky, dull, and so forth. (no soft spots and few stress fractures as best i can tell) the deck would need some attition. is this typical of the 27' or have the couple who has owned it used something to clean it that might have caused this problem. !! also, the man who ownes the boat indicates that the craft needs a barier coat and bottom job. what are the typical habits of a hunter in fresh water when blistered. small areas, large areas, will it return, etc.. one owner fresh water boat.please email mshell@ipa.net

If purchasing a boat, I suggest a marine surveyor to look at the boat to include having it hauled to check the bottom. Better safe than buying a pig in a poke. As for the topsides, it is obvious with a chaulky deck that the boat may need a good compunding and wax to see if that will take care of the topsides
