I just purchased and installed this unit to replace my Freedom 2000 unit. You may want to look at Hodges Marine for a better price. Also unlike the Xantrex unit which is quite a bit bigger, the remote panel and remote panel wiring is a match to the old unit.

How long did it take you to do the exchange, was it a few hours or a few days?

Since I did not have to run a new wire for the remote panel and the new remote panel was an exact fit to the old one, it was a couple of hours.

I installed a Xantrex prowatt 2000 in my last Catalina 36 about 3 years ago, really liked it, like the quick switch from shore to battery power and I liked the remote panel.

On our Hunter we just had to replace the 2000 msw interter and installed a Magmum pure sine wave inverter, we will going out for a weeks trip, will let you know how it works.
