And the answer is ...
A real nice fellow from Hunter, named Eddie, took the trouble to track me down by phone, to give me the answer to my question about hull ID numbers. Here's the scoop:My hull number is HUN35153A202."HUN", of course, is the manufacturer's ID (Hunter Marine)"35" indicates a 35-footer."153" is the hull serial number (in the case of the Hunter 356 model, the numbering started at 100, so my hull is the 53rd of this model)."A2" indicates the month and year of manufacture (in this case A=January and 2=the year 2002).Finally, "02" indicates the model year (in this case, it's a 2002 model). This explains why some 356s have date codes like ...I102, which indicates that the boat was manufactured in September 2001, but is considered a 2002 model. Many thanks to Eddie at Hunter for this thorough explanation, and I hope this helps anybody else that might be wondering about the meaning of their hull number.Petes/v Sh'boom
