Last weekend, the inverter shut down and would not come back. I followed the manual that included disconnecting the hot lead to (I guess) re-boot it. The battery volts were satisfactory. the remote control was dead or just showed the charge light w/o any volts displayed. I disconnected it and the temperature sensor. Used the panel on the inverter directly. A flashing red indicator suggested an overload condition. I shut it off and disconnected everything and restarted. This time I got a condition normal but the thing crashes after a while and the remote is out to lunch. Anyhow, the boat is sitting on a mooring now, so I do not have any dock power to try. DC is normal. Any suggestions??? Thanks. Rick D.

Heart Inverters Not so Great............

I had a Heart inverter/chager on my Hunter legend 37 that went on the fritz. The plastic on/off switch broke off and the inveter became virtually useless. Not only did I loose my inverter I also lost my battery charger. Repairs were out of the question, I was told to purchase a new one, well let me tell you all, No Way! I have now purchased a 45 amp 3 stage charger and a new stand alone inverter. Its the only way to go. If the inverter breaks down I still have my charger and vice versus. Happy at last in Point Roberts

Rick..are you sure?

that you have plenty of battery power? I don't know what you run off your inverter, but my refrigeration is run off mine, and after about 12 hrs when the refer tries to start I get the same overload indication that you speak of. The inverter at that point does not work. Recharging the batteries via generator, shore power, or running the engine is the only way I have been able to get the "green light" and become operational again. BTW, after the inverter shuts down, my volt meter is showing about 12 volts.

Mark, the actual was 12.56 volts.

..but it may have dipped to less with load. Still, I have been down to 11 before and never had a problem. (Of course, I didn't put any load on it until recharge.) Anyway, I will call their hot line. Want to try as much as possible before having someone out. Thanks. Any more ideas welcome. Rick D.
