Question to ThinAirDesigns:
Simplistically speaking, you've validated that dividing the sine of propellers pitch angle, less minor friction losses, can be an important 'driving force' .... like squeezing a pumpkin seed between ones fingers ... is this the essence of your propulsion? if so, this is a very profound mechanics / fluid dynamics demonstration --- my hearty congratulations.

Yes, as with a fast boat on a broad reach, it's the 'pumkin seed' principle.

And thanks.

ah, the pumpkin seed effect .... and when rigorously calculated shows that a prop spinning in water has significantly less drag than with the prop stopped by a transmission in gear - only with the spinning prop in the water IS that 'pumpkin seed'. Its all in the 'trigonometry'.

GREAT project, and great discussions. ;-)
