My 60's Daysailor 1 came with the drop keel out of the boat and need a new mechanism. From the remaining mounting holes it looks as though a bolt with a lever handle and a square nut of some kind passes through the keel box. Are these still available? Does anyone have a photo of how it should look? Thanks for any help you can give. Keith, Cape Cod

Keith,
Rudy Nickerson of D & R Marine in Assonet has all the O'Day parts. Give him a call. He may have what you need. http://www.drmarine.com/

Rudy has all the parts of that Centerboard Lever assembly. Cape Cod Shipbuilding uses a slightly different CB lever, They might be able to sell you the parts if you need any, but D&R Marine has the exact parts used by O'DAY (Rudy used to work for O'DAY in their Parts Dept.). D&R is in Assonet, MA. (508) 644-3001 www.drmarine.com Rudy is open for walk-in business most Saturday mornings, and is well worth a trip!!
I've added a pic of the lever and of the entire parts group. The lever pic doesn't show it as well as I hoped, the shaft on the lever has a square section that will fit into the square hole in the CB, there is a pointed end on the lever shaft that fits a small recess in the side of the CB trunk oposite the hole. This is the same CB lever used on the older WIDGEON that I had as well as my Dad's old Beetle FALCON.
