I fabricated aluminum davits and fastened them with clamps to my H36. I made them long enough so you can still stand on the swim platform. This put the weight or the dink pretty far out. I was also concerned about weight. The dink weighs 50Kg and had a 9.9 hp motor. I traded motor for a 4hp 4 stroke. All worked well. The boat sits on it's lines. The bow is about 50mm higher out of the water than before. I can not detect any sailing performance difference. I would suggest testing your application by having three or four mates stand on swim platform and see how much the bow lifts. If you are bolting to glass I would add very large glassed in backing plates. Hunters have no back stays so lay-up is lighter. PS I believe I have seen photos of a Hunter supplied clamp on davits for your boat.

you're not going to be able to use arch davits on a center cockpit boat. Doug probably missed the point that you own a 45cc. different davit systems have different weight ratings. Do you know the manufacturer's name or the model number? Can you post a picture? My davits rate at 500 lbs, but I'd never trust more than half of that weight to them when sailing. Indeed, I prefer to remove the outboard engine first, securing it to its bracket, and hanging the dink on the davits without an engine.
