The other day I found somebody asking telling about a H-42 with an extra beam-construction on the transom like the present one on the aft-side of the cockpit. O this one there was davits and other gear attached. This one was that time cruising the Chesapeake. I am planning extended cruising from Chesapeake towards Florida and the Caribbean. This is a construction I like for my own H-42. Can somebody give me a hint where I can find this boat to have a look for a possible copy. Frederick Vleer of “humfree”

2nd arch

There has been a previous discussion on this topic that's probably in the archive if you want to review the entire thread. I've twice seen a 42 in the waters around the Keys with a second arch. There is a company in the FtLauderdale area, Wells Marine, that makes and installs arches and has done at least one P42. I plan on having one installed next year to provide davits as well as mounting points for solar panels and all of my antennas including radar. They're not cheap but seem to me to provide the best method of attaching davits. He actually cuts the side portion of the stern pulpit and inserts the arch, mounted to the hull, and rewelds the pulpit to the arch. He has a web site but I don't remember the URL.

Davits

I have a 42 with a second arch which is used for davits and wind generator or radar post. You can email me at derek@cdnimage.com for more info. I will be on the boat in the keys thru Jan 5/00.

derek-where in the Keys

I live in the Keys and keep my 42, Sugar Magnolia, at Marathon. Where will you be sailing in the keys for the next couple of weeks? Were you anchored off Bahia Honda a couple of weeks ago?

bill - it looks like you have it made

I took the boat to Key West for New Year. I keep it in Miami as it is easier to fly in from Toronto where I live and work. The boat's name is Life Style and is usually in the Pennekamp area snorkeling or diving with either myself or debbie aboard. Please stop by and say hi if you see the boat.

Derek email me

Derek, Email me at walton66@terranova.net the next time you are coming down this way. Maybe we can hook up. My boat is "Sugar Magnolia". I keep her at Marathon. There are several P42 owners between here and Miami as well.
